Level 4 Award in Microneedling

The CIBTAC Level 4 Award in Microneedling is a practical and knowledge-based qualification aimed at medical and non-medical aesthetic practitioners specialising in microneedling treatments. This advanced aesthetic qualification provides learners with the knowledge and skills to carry out the recognised microneedling treatments in today’s market.

This is a modular Level 4 qualification suitable for all skin health professionals who wish to extend your knowledge of the microneedling treatment, considerably further than standard training and in unprecedented depth. This qualification is listed in the Ofqual register of qualifications. The CIBTAC Level 4 Award in Advanced Skin Science provides knowledge that underpins all non-surgical aesthetic practices in line with sector national occupational standards and government recommendations. 

Progress in Aesthetics

The qualification has been identified by employers, professional bodies, government bodies and insurers, as recommended for working as a clinical aesthetic practitioner, however, there are some CPD courses that can enhance the knowledge learnt to ensure that the qualified practitioner remains current and at the forefront of the industry. The CIBTAC’s Level 4 Award in Microneedling Treatments is a natural progression from Level 3 beauty therapy qualifications and the Level 4 Advanced Skin Science. Achievement of the CIBTAC Level 4 Certificate in Microneedling Treatments will also provide progression to the Level 4 Award in Skin Peeling treatments and the Level 5 Award in Microneedling offered by CIBTAC who are regulated by Ofqual.

The aim of the CIBTAC Level 4 Award in Microneedling Treatments is to provide learners with the knowledge, practical competence, skills, treatment understanding and terminology in microneedling required to work confidently and effectively within the aesthetics sector in accordance with the new Education & Training Standards and Competency Framework published by the JCCP which replaced the HEE framework. It provide learners with a challenging qualification that will enable them to gain the advanced knowledge required for work as a nonsurgical aesthetic practitioner by developing their advanced knowledge that underpins professional, ethical, safe and effective non-surgical, clinical aesthetic practice, enhancing the safety of the public in line with UK government recommendations.

Course Delivery (Theory) - Digital audio-visual e-learning 

 

Course Delivery (Practical Workshop) - Personal tuition on training models. You will work with both manual and automated devices covering a variety of needle lengths up to 0.5mm.  Your practical training will be delivered at our training centre in North Nottinghamshire.

Course Assessment (Theory) - Online multiple choice questions and written assessment workbook 

Course Assessment (Practical) - Observational and verbal assessment of consultation and clinical procedures,  oral questioning to assess underpinning knowledge and understanding of skin health assessment and procedures. Written assessment of clinical documentation. 

Duration - 6 months consisting of 60 Guided Learning Hours (GLH). Minimum 120 hours Total Qualification Time (TQT) which includes private study time and assessment completion.

Course entry requirements –  one of the following:

NVQ Beauty Therapy Level 3 or equivalent

CIBTAC Level 4 Advanced Skin Science

Minimum of 5 GCCEs or equivalent plus a minimum of 1 A’Level ( Grade Cs or above)
Open access on assessment of suitability for learning at Level 4
PLUS - Fluency in English and ability to study at Level 4

Certification - The OFQUAL accredited CIBTAC Level 4 Award in Microneedling - graded at pass, merit or distinction.
